|Bottom Line||This is a good beginner kit at a great price point. You won't be disappointed with the feel of the rod and it will deliver a rewarding experience whether you're fishing small stream trout or stripping streamers for bass. I prefer a cast or machined reel, but the Encounter reel included in this kit will do the trick||This combo kit is my Editors Choice for a beginner fly fishing kit. I personally like the feel of a cast aluminum reel and the Clearwater rod is an upgrade from the Encounter version also reviewed here. The warranty also applies to both rod and reel which is a bonus. Overall, this is a great option for both beginner and intermediate fly angler||The Echo carbon is a great rod with great feel. The Lamson Liquid reel that accompanies this kit is also a great entry level cast aluminum reel.||Overall this is a good entry level kit. I really like the integrated case for rod and reel. I prefer cast or machined reels compared to the molded Crosswater reel included in this kit but it will serve all your needs just fine.|
